You’ve probably seen it in #news. The so-called “decline of DemocracyCraft news”.
Recently, TPA News joined the… “after-party” where The Reveille Times has been for quite some time now, after torten announcing that all TPA related services will shut down effective immediately on November 21st.
The Reveille Times and TPA News were both extremely high quality news outlets, that ended up closing down, for different reasons.
Normally, everyday life in Redmont would give us enough… content to write about, but that’s not like it. There’s so little to write about. Not much stuff happening, worth writing for. Nowadays, the most important stuff happening is posted in announcements, so writing an article about them would be pointless.
So, why is there almost nothing else to write about? Is it that Pepecuu’s Administration is allegedly so perfect, that there are no flaws to write about? Is it that all the Government Departments are absolutely flawless, that there is nothing to say? Food for thought.
Personally, I wouldn’t call this a “news outlet epidemic”, or a “news decline”. When there’s no news, it usually means that stuff is going on just fine, and if that makes the lives of players easier, we shouldn’t mess with it. Essentially, if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it.
On a final note, I’d like to expand on why I think TRVT and TPA News were high quality news sources. Not because of the news they wrote, but because of the WAY they did it. Both of them wanted to make the reader feel good about visiting their outlets, by having a custom-made website. Additionally, their organized political debates and live streams made them stand out from a traditional news source. I doubt there’s news companies that can surpass their success.
