Plot Crisis In Redmont?

Citizens complain that there are hardly any available plots for sale in the three islands, and the ones that are, are very expensive.

KattoDE created a petition for this issue within Redmont, proposing the idea of “raising an island out of the ocean, and build a new district”. So far, after 3 days, 14 people have AYE’d the petition, which is a little less than halfway to 30.

Katto also suggests stricter inactivity guidelines by the Department of Construction and Transport, to which another player responded that the laws are strict already, just “aren’t being upheld”.

In the contrary, some players seem to disagree with a petition like this, claiming that “real estate has no value if more land keeps popping up”, and “it won’t have any value at all if the plots are empty”.

For a person that wants to get into the real estate industry in Redmont, it’s close to impossible because of the high prices. Nowadays, it’s extremely difficult to win an auction for a plot, and if you do, you’ve overpaid by quite a bunch.

On the other hand, for normal players needing a place to live, there are plenty of rental apartments throughout Redmont, in very affordable prices.

In short, creating more land is not exactly a long-term solution to Redmont’s plot “crisis”. With inflation being so high, it has become very difficult to buy a plot at its actual and objective pricing, and not overpay.

So, does Redmont have a plot crisis, or are businesspeople trying to get plots in lower prices, by “printing” new land out of nowhere?
