Gribble19, Against All Odds: “I Gave This Election My All”

As the Department of State announced, the winner of the Senate Special Election is Gribble19.

If you recall, we predicted mesemi, GraprielJuice and vvirtue_ to be in the close race for the election, and even our exit poll presented estimates similar to that.

But, Gribble19 came out of the blue to snatch the seat, while the rest of the candidates were fighting with each other for who will get it.

In fact, based on our exit poll, Gribble19 was projected to be 5th (!), if we include the fact that there was a total of 15 voters.

Additionally, Gribble19 got 51 total votes, with 23 being of first preference. 51 is more than the 50% of votes plus one [(85 / 2) + 1 = 43.5], so they are the elected winner.

Finally, our initial prediction was right about vvirtue_ and GraprielJuice being in the top 3, with mesemi being 4th on the official list.

Gribble19’s statements:

I am of course extremely happy with these results, I gave this election my all, and I’m happy that it paid off. I of course couldn’t have done this without everyone that supported me. Furthermore, I would like to give a special thank you to my wife Eenza for helping me make my campaign art. But above all, I want to thank everyone that took the time out of their day to go to the polls and vote for me. I will try my absolute best to represent the people of Redmont to the best of my abilities, and to ensure that Redmont’s body of legislation is up to the highest standards of quality!

Regarding the exit poll, the newly elected Senate said:

Due to the exit poll not taking into account first preferences and not having a super large amount of voters, I did not think it would be super accurate. If it is possible to take the preferences into account and get some more respondents for the next election, I think it would be very interesting to see if the poll could be closer to the real results!
