Senate Special Election: Live Updates, Statements, And Estimates

The voting ended! We’ve entered the counting cycle, which will require some waiting time.

In the meanwhile, we got some statements to deliver, at least from the candidates that we got in contact with and got responses from.

This page will be updated whenever there is something new, so feel free to refresh.

We asked the candidates about their thoughts for the elections and the exit poll we posted, as well as a statement about the whole process.

*NOTE: All times below are in UTC-4.

Update #1 – 09:00pm

  • mesemi (IND) – Responded at 07:54pm: Hello! I am excited about the outcome and I wish all my fellow candidates well! I feel pretty positive about placing well, although I’m not sure if I’ll win. Some of my competition is definitely worthy of the seat. The exit poll instills confidence in myself that people want what I’m offering, though, and I appreciate the reporting!
  • pricelessAgrari (IND) – Responded at 07:59pm: I think that, as usual, there is a good line up. I think mesemi, GraprielJuice, and I (Not to seem self-centered) have good chances in this election. I think Gribble19 would probably get less votes than you predicted, vvirtue_ getting more. The others seem fairly ranked. The exit poll was pretty good-looking, and I hope your news network grows to become an established news outlet.
  • Gribble19 (IND) – Responded at 08:11pm: Hello! I think it will be a very tough election, with a lot of candidates having chances to win. I really appreciate that your news agency tried to hold an exit poll and bring us election news, I think it was difficult to get accurate results, but I’ve found it very fun to read! Personally speaking, I must say that I have tried my hardest to campaign, it will be a difficult election for me as an independent candidate without support from any party, but all I can do is try my hardest and hope for the best. I look forward to the results, and I’d like to hereby thank all the people that took the time to go to the polls today and vote for me!
  • vvirtue_ (IND) – Responded at 08:15pm: For the special election, I feel immense gratitude for the support I’ve received during the campaigning period. Even if I do not win, I’m proud of my attempt against such formidable opponents. That said, of course I want to win. Whenever my confidence wanes, I look at how people rally behind me and choose to keep fighting and keep campaigning. Regardless of what the results turn out to be, this is only my first steps in Redmont’s politics, and I look forward to what the future holds. Regarding the exit polls, I haven’t heard of them before now. I’m the kind to overthink, so such things tend to shake my nerves a bit. I look forward to the actual results, and it’ll be interesting to see how accurate the exit polls were.

Update #2 – 09:36pm:

  • “Results should be announced later tonight, as far as I know.”, says Staff member, Neemfy.
  • On the September Congress elections, results were posted three hours and one minute after the polls ended. This time, counting should take less time due to the smaller amount of candidates, total votes, and because only one of them will win.

Update #3 – 06:22am:

  • The results of the election still haven’t been posted, which begs the question: What’s going on?
  • ItsStormcraft: I hope GaprielJuice at least gets this seat. All other parties appear to rally behind virtue so it would appear most reasonable for this to be a close race between these two. I have quite some respect for DocTheory so it is sad to see him go, but it is also a chance we must use. I desperately hope we, the Coalition, will be able to secure this seat. The last election was less than ideal, and I hope we can regain some ground. Regarding the exit poll, you have already identified many issues and I do not believe it gives any relevant insight.

Update #4 – 08:42am:

  • GraprielJuice: Honestly? Kinda nerve-wracking due to how tight this race appears to be overall based on what the exit poll suggests. My general thoughts are mostly about what I mentioned earlier. This race looks INCREDIBLY tight between myself and Mesemi, or myself and Virtue if we base it off community sentiment. All candidates have done a good job with campaigning and I feel that, no matter who wins, everyone should take some pride in how well they’ve done in that regard. I hope not to turn up empty-handed this time. Thank you to everyone who has shown me support, especially my colleagues in the WPR who have placed so much faith in me to deliver. Finally, I want to promise the people of Redmont that, if I am elected this special, that I will not be stagnant. I will do whatever I can to make this nation better from before, primarily focused on dealing with gun crime and improving education at all levels.

Update #5 – 09:40am:

  • It looks like we just didn’t have enough people to count last night and so results are going to be delayed until someone is around to do so“, says an official Department of State member, regarding the very long delay for the Senate Special Election results.

Update #6 – 17:09pm:

  • Multiman155 announced the results of the election, with Gribble19 being the winner, against the results of the exit poll we created. They got 51 votes in total, 23 of them being of first preference.
