Congress – Elections: A Party Programme Analysis

Congress elections are right around the corner. We have asked all the major political parties a few questions, to -maybe- help the society of Redmont decide who they want in the House of Representatives and as a Senate.

The questions we asked are as follows:

  1. What name are you known with (in-game or Discord)?
  2. What are your party’s policies?
  3. What is your party’s vision?
  4. Who are your party’s candidates?
  5. What information could you give on those candidates’ backgrounds?
  6. Why should people vote for them/you?

…meaning, that in the following text, we will provide the answers which correspond to the question number listed above.

The Left Opposition

We got in contact with Jesseya, and apparently, TLO (short for The Left Opposition) does not have a leader. We contacted them because that is who we found to have posted the TLC post in the #parties thread on the DemocracyCraft Discord Server.

  1. Jesseya
  2. Some of our policies include Liberty (Gun rights, Property rights), Autonomy (Towns), Equality (more Jobs, more Wages), and Revolution (the means to our ends, reshaping Redmont)
  3. Libertarian Socialism for Redmont. We seek to preserve individual Liberty but fight the Capitalist and Big Business landowner Class.
  4. I, Jesseya, will be running for Senate, while the other two TLC (AdmiralMusket44 and NovaKerba) candidates, are running for House of Representatives.
  5. NovaKerbal and AdmiralMusket are both fairly new, but staunchly Left Libertarian players. As for me, Jesseya, I also have a history on Redmont. I started the FAS and used to be a representative for the WPR.
  6. Because we are the only true Revolutionary Leftist voice in Politics.

New Alliance

Next, it’s Sofia (aka Juniper), from the NA party.

  1. Sofia and Juniper
  2. Our main goal is to not only keep returning players, but also make sure DemocracyCraft gets new ones. One of the things we want to do is make the “welcome” of DC be easier for new players to understand. Meaning, we want to implement simplifications to jobs, like merge all the Barrister roles.
  3. We are largely focused on improving the experience for new players, a group we feel have been abandoned by the majors, we have also worked on reforms in sectors like healthcare (NHS act) and events (Nuisance), but new players are our primary focus.
  4. Imza (Joint candidate with RBP), Pigeon (Aka bird man and person behind our development fund), and Scassany, (a new player who agrees with our platform, and feels that we have to change stuff for new players).
  5. Imza also proposed the end of impeachment, otherwise I did it with the last one.
  6. Because we are focused on taking the equivalent of a 98% child mortality rate, down to more like 95%, significantly increasing the amount of people who would understand DC

Workers Party of Redmont

With this party, we contacted Dogeington, who is part of the Central Committee of WPR.

Dogeington‘s answers:

  1. Sir_Dogeington in game, Dogeington in discord, people call me doge or dog
  2. WPR policy changes via internal discussion and voting every two months, but currently our policy revolves around tenate rights and making the economy more accessible to new players.
  3. The Workers’ Party of Redmont (WPR) stands as the uncompromising champion of Redmont’s working class, dedicated to the relentless pursuit of their collective well-being. Ideologically diverse as we may be, materialism is the core philosophy that unites us – the recognition that the way forward for our nation lies not in theoretical constructs, but in the observable realities of our server. We are committed to dissecting the material conditions of DemocracyCraft, and not only identifying the forces that shape our economy, government, and the lives of our citizens, but acting rationally upon them. Our approach is a scientific one, and the result is an endless dedication to real, tangible progress – progress that we know can only come from the bottom up. The Workers’ Party aims to dismantle barriers and foster a truly equitable environment where every citizen has the opportunity to engage equally in the game. We understand and acknowledge the limitations that come with our digital environment, but we nonetheless aim to create as just of a society as possible, while maintaining the mechanisms that make our server unique and fun. We believe in the right of all players to stable employment, to affordable property, and to a fair wage. By focusing on these tangible needs felt by everyday players, we know that we can forge a Redmont where the labour of its people directly translates into prosperity, security, and universal access to the resources and opportunities they rightfully deserve. Our commitment is to the concrete, to the achievable, and to the enduring betterment of the worker’s life within our nation.
  4. For House of Representatives, it’s GraprielJuice, Caldiron, Smami, Girlfailcoded, Selenodot, and Aurora, and for Senate it’s 1950minecrafter.
  5. We have a diverse pool of candidates, some like 1950minecrafter have an extensive political history in Redmont, while others like Selenodot are using this election as their first step into politics. One thing that they all have in common is a high level of competency, a willingness to collaborate, and a strong desire to make Redmont a better place for all players.
  6. People should vote for whomever they want to vote for. But if you want congress people who can actually do their job, and are not compromised by other conflicting interests, our candidates are a great pick. So yeah, if you want more left wing policies and changes that make DemocracyCraft better, vote for the WPR (Workers Party of Redmont) candidates.

The Party

When it comes to TP, we got in touch with DK3458 and Talion77, as they are the leaders of The Party.

*Answers to questions #2 and #3 have been merged into answer #2.

  1. I am DK3458 or just DK. I lead the Party “The Party” along with my friend Talion77 or just Talion.
  2. We are a Centre-Left Party and we as the Party strive for a better Redmont, more Transparency and Equality.
  3. Our Candidates are Talion77, KometJabuk345 and ItsStormcrafter. Talion is the other head of the party and currently the Speaker of the Alexandrian Parliament.
  4. He will run for the House of Representatives. Komet is the Chairman of the Party Board and has not been in the Government, but he knows how the System works. He will also run for the House of Representatives. Stormy is the Head Chancellor of the Party and currently a member of the Alexandrian Parliament and Leader of the Alliance 25/The Greens for Alexandria Party. He will run for Senate.
  5. You should vote for our candidate because they want the best for Redmont and for the people of it.

Redmont Beach Party

We contacted Bezzer, but after promising to answer the questions at some point, they never did.

The Freedom Coalition

  1. Vernicia
  2. We are a platform for the protection of all freedoms; that is our main issue. Each caucus within the party then has its own specific policies.
  3. Our vision is to make DC politics less toxic and less oppressive, and to reduce government overreach like we are currently seeing from the DCT.
  4. We have:
    – Me for Senate. I am a quite moderate candidate, a business and charity owner. I am also running for the House of Representatives (HoR)
    – The leader of our party and a member of the Libertarian Caucus, FTLCEO. He is also a small business owner.
    – Anthony, a new player who became successful by filling a hole in the economy, and is a quite talented player and a member of the Libertarian Caucus as well.
    – Kinosaur, who is also a member of the Libertarian Caucus.
  5. Our voter base consists of anyone who prefers freedom and dislikes government overreach. We are also the only party running candidates who are experts in their fields. Out of our four candidates, three are major experts in their areas.
  6. You can expect us to thoroughly research every issue we vote on. We do not use catchphrases like “transparency” or “root out corruption” in our campaign, as we believe these values should be a given and are just lazy slogans used by those who have nothing substantive to offer.

Galactic Empire of Redmont

When it comes to GER, they were unreachable, meaning we couldn’t get in touch with the higher ups.

Independent Candidates

When it comes to independent candidates, the questions change a bit, because of the differences of running alone, compared to run as a member of a political party. The questions are:

  1. What name are you known with (in-game or Discord)?
  2. What are your policies?
  3. What is your vision?
  4. Any background about yourself that you would like to share?
  5. Why should people vote for you?

tortenwashere

  1. tortenwashere
  2. Sleeping in the Congressional Chambers
  3. An inactive government
  4. No, too sleepy to tell
  5. They shouldn’t

Dodrio3

  1. Dodrio3
  2. Judicial Reform
    – Establish compulsory time frames for the judiciary to respond to filings, motions and appeals.
    – Increase penalties for legal and financial crimes.
    – Raise fines for frivolous lawsuits and contempt of court to streamline judicial proceedings.
    – Introduce Frivolous Motions and objections to incrase court efficency
    Financial Oversight and Transparency
    – Federal Reserve Bank to prosecute financial crimes within its jurisdiction.
    – Require audited reports from all financial institutions to be publicly accessible.
    – Remove the Auction Levy while maintaining the Fairness Fee.
    Government Accountability and Efficiency
    –
Introduce the Government Employee Accountability Bill, ensuring individual responsibility for misconduct.
    – Implement time frames for move government activity’s such as responding to tickets.
    Citizen Participation and Democracy
    –
Introduce a voting participation incentive system to encourage greater electoral engagement and strengthen democratic representation.
    Worker Protections
    –
Guarantee minimum employment benefits for all workers such as notice for dismissals redundancy pay and valid reasons need for dismissing someone.
  3. I would like to see the goverment take accountability for thier thier actions, for workers to recive protection from thier employers and where the court and not filled with nonsense that obstructs a right to a fair trial.
  4. I have worked in DC as a lawyer for about 3 years, I believe. I currently work as a compliance officer for the FRB and the DOC.
  5. Once I set my mind on something I won’t stop till I get it. If people vote for me I will not stop till I fulfill the promises I made in my campaign.
  6. Lastly, I belive that parties spend too long bickering with each other, rather than focusing on what the people actually want and what they promised to them.

Multiman155

  1. Multiman155
  2. Here’s my FAMILY platform for a fairer, freer, and stronger Redmont:
  3. F — Fix the laws.
    – Close loopholes in the Criminal Code Act, tighten sloppy wording, and make enforcement clearer. I’ll also push to re-implement gun licensing for new players (it used to exist) and extend newbie protection to 2 hours so fresh players aren’t griefed or used for drive-bys.
  4. A — Autonomy for towns.
    – Give towns real, durable legal status—not something that can be wiped away by a whim by actions of the federal executive. Delegate powers so towns can pass local laws as full-fledged legislative bodies with final authority over local issues. There’s precedent and interest around Towns’ rights—let’s codify them properly.
  5. M — Make funding reasonable.
    – Some departments generate significant fee revenue (e.g., DoE via music/creative patents, DCT via pastes). Let those revenues directly compensate high-demand staff so services are faster and better.
  6. I — Investigate corruption.
    – Sunlight works. I’ll back stronger audits and real consequences for waste, fraud, and favoritism—building on the auditing work that’s existed historically.
  7. L — Let businesses grow.
    – Back startups and small firms, reduce monopoly lock-in, and improve new-player retention. Formalize real property rights in order to support business growth and reduce risk from loans. The Department of Commerce should be empowered—and held accountable—to actually support a dynamic economy.
  8. Y — Your voice, your government.
    – No party bosses. No outside loyalties. I’ll hold public office hours and keep DMs open—an independent voice who’ll bring your concerns to the House.

*no other independent candidate responded in time.

Professional Opinion

As for this last segment of this article, we asked for the opinion of the MZPA Secretary, to give us their unbiased point of view about the parties running for the elections. The questions refer, to all the parties that we have included in this article.

Do they function well as parties, and in positions of power, if ever been there (Congress etc.)?

– When it comes to parties functioning, I believe both the WPR and RBP has not functioned in a manner that benefits players the most.

For example, just yesterday a member of the WPR pitched breaking apart MZ as a means to help new players, which in my opinion does the complete opposite. MZ offers various benefits to new players including myself when I just started. It feels like both parties has no clear plan and instead just runs on helping new players, hoping that’s enough to win.

I believe the New Alliance will find their footing relatively quickly due to Sofia’s leadership, from their ads they appear to be very focused. I don’t have proper opinions on their operations at this moment, but I trust Sofia and her judgment.

Another party I am confident in is The Freedom Coalition. Obviously, I am running as a HoR candidate as a member of TFC, but we’re consolidated and focused on running a strong campaign. The party is very united, and I believe this election can build some strong momentum for TFC. It’s a common misconception from people, particularly from WPR that the TFC is a party for the rich, we wish to change that narrative with results.

TLO is a party that perplexes me since they seem to have a core member base, but their advertisements are contradictory. For example, one of their current candidates has stated in their campaign ad that they wish to require people to have licenses to own guns but want to legalize WMDs, I don’t believe they are a very serious party at this moment.

The party does not seem to be much of a proper party considering that they’ve endorsed more WPR members than their own members, and they have no public policy page in their Discord, from how they talk in official announcement channels I do not think they are very focused.

GER I see as functionally dead in the water. Yeet has stated that he is trying to rebuild GER, but for the time being, GER is functionally dead.

What is your opinion about those parties?

– As for my beliefs in specific parties, there is no party I outright dislike. Besides one representative, I genuinely believe that both parties want the best for the players of DC, I just disagree with their belief in what’s best for players.

I have no real strong opinion on NA due to them being brand new. I trust Sofia in her leadership skills and can see NA potentially being a strong 3rd party.

TFC, I am a big fan of because of how open we are policy wise. We do not have politicians make statements publicly about breaking apart businesses that happen to be ran by someone who is a political opponent, like some parties. I hope we can use this election to win some seats and beat the narrative that has been falsely set upon TFC

As I stated, TLO is so contradictory that I cannot wrap my head around them. They want to legalize WMDs but restrict gun ownership. Their campaign ads talk about defending liberty but claims they’ll attack capitalism, which is the economic system that gives people the most individual liberty. It’s a super contradictory party.

The party is seemingly just a WPR-lite and has no public policy platform available for anyone to see in their Discord.

And I have no opinion on GER due to them being functionally dead and before my time.
